Coordination Nation

Activity Descriptions 
Each activity is led by a pediatric occupational therapist in a structured yet playful format.


>Coordination Nation: 3-5 years:
Activity Time: 45 minutes
This activity is designed to (1) improve bilateral (right and left sides of the body) coordination, (2) enhance eye-hand coordination, (3) improve consistency of mid-line crossing, (4) trunk rotation, (5) increase body awareness, and (6) timing of movement.  Classes will be presented in a fun way and consist of obstacle courses with progressive levels of difficulty, eye-hand coordination games and activities, mirror games, rock wall climbing, perceptual motor activities, ball skills, oral-motor games, ribbon wand games, songs incorporating rhythm sticks, and many other activities.  Interactive Metronome may be incorporated into sessions to assist with timing and graded control of simple movements.  This activity is ideal for the child who appears clumsy, bumps into objects or people, seems uncoordinated, and performs tasks in a slow and belabored way.

Activity Time: 45 minutes
